The Lakes at Banning Luau!
We had a blast at the end of August with our big Luau. From wonderful food to even better performers, we were thrilled to have a day of fun with our residents and families.
The performers, Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers and their instructor is Perla, took volunteers up from family members, staff (me being one of them), and our residents to show us how to do a dance! They also explained to us the cultural significance of each dance, its moves, and the music.
The food was prepared and served by our stellar kitchen, including a carved watermelon and watermelon punch. For snacks, we had fruit skewers, cheese and crackers, Hawaiian ‘pinwheels’, and Hawaiian BBQ pork wonton tacos—all garnished with our beautiful fresh-cut plumerias!
We had such an amazing turnout between residents and families, and it was great to see everyone taking their pictures with our cutout! Our activities department did a wonderful job of creating a fun, inviting atmosphere in our lobby and dining room!
All in all, the day was a huge success. If you’re curious about the events we hold for our residents and families, be sure to check out our events calendar or give us a call! We would love to see you at our next big shindig!
